What Should We Eat In Malacca?

FAMOUS MALACCA FOODIES

Today we will be introducing some famous touristy Malacca Local Food . Before we went to Malacca, we did some research on all the famous touristy foodies in Malacca. However, some food was really good while some was just alright.

1.
MALAYSIA 13 STATES’ COFFEE
Address: 75200, 17, Jalan Hang Kasturi, 75200 Melaka
This is a cafe located at Jonker street that serve all 13 states of Malaysian Coffee. We have tried the Malacca and Kelantan Kopi O. It costs around RM 7 each glass . Well you can straight away taste 13 different types of coffee in a cafe without travelling to every states which is something unique. They are also famous for their Laksa but we did not try it as we were too full.

2.
60 EAST & WEST RENDEVOUS
Address:
52, Lorong Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka
Located along an alley, it is a small shop that is famous for their glutinous rice also known as ‘Chang’. You can dine there or take away. Their Bak Chang cost RM10 per piece while the Nyonya Chang cost RM6 one. Besides, they do serve Cendol too at RM5 per bowl. We really liked their Nyonya Chang which is really unique and hard to find in Penang, while their Cendol is really different from Penang’s as their gula Melaka is thick and fragrant.

3.
GEOGRAPHER CAFE
Address:
83, Jalan Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka
I would recommend you to visit this place around 8pm which is located at Jonker Street and there is a night market at Jonker Street every Friday to Sunday. After visiting the night market, you can chill here with some cocktails or try some of the Malacca delicacies that they offer while enjoying the live band performance.

4.
Baba Charlie Nyonya Cake
Address: 72, Lorong Tengkera Pantai 2c, Kampung Tengkera Pantai Dua, 75200 Melaka
Located in a really narrow alley, it might be easy to miss the place but just follow Waze’s direction and you can get here. They have all kinds of Nyonya kuih you can imagine. Open from 10.30am to 3p.m daily except on Thursday.

5.
BAN LEE SIANG SATAY CELUP
Address:
45-E, Jalan Ong Kim Wee, 75200 Melaka
One of Malacca’s speciality is definitely satay celup. One of the most famous places in Malacca for satay celup is Ban Lee Siang. The gravy is savoury and more watery compared to other stalls. Their ingredients are kept in a refrigerator and you select what you want. Each stick cost an average of RM1.20.

6. KEDAI KOPI CHUNG WAH
Address:
18, Jalan Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka
Chicken Rice Ball is one of the specialty you can get when in Malacca. It is hard to miss this place because it is strategically located across Jonker Street’s main entrance. We felt their steamed chicken is really delicious and affordable but we did not fancy the rice balls because of the texture . Note that there is usually a long queue for this especially during weekends and after 12p.m.

7. THE COFFEE JAR

Address: 38, Lorong Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka

Located a few shops next to 60 East & West Rendevous is a small quaint cafe that serve coffee and some cakes. They have limited seatings inside. We felt the coffee was a bit overpriced as the latte cost RM15 for a small cup.
